Hooded Robin
The Hooded Robin (Melanodryas cucullata) is the Bird Of The Week this episode and is often considered a relatively shy bird. The males are a bold black and white, and the females are more of a grey-brown colour, with white markings. They prefer lightly timbered woodland and feed by pouncing on invertebrates on or near the ground.
