Episode 45 – More Zoomusicology and an Introduction to Chord Progression

The 45th episode of The Big Note once again examines the topic of zoomusicology (one of my favourite subjects) but also discusses Chord progression in modern music. A chord consists of more than one note (usually three) sounded simultaneously, while a chord progression involves at least two chords played sequentially. Typically, this sequence recurs as a verse, chorus, or bridge in modern music. Similar to any good story, a chord progression constructs an emotional passage from its inception to its conclusion. Comparable to a well-crafted story, it commences with an introduction, takes us on a journey in the middle, and finally culminates in some kind of resolution. Along the way today we also play some great contemporary Australian music as well as some bangers from the past!
