Hola cyberspacers, We hope you’re all doin’ a.o.k out there. A mix of tunes getting the show under way for the first hour and a half…. At 7:30(ish) our good friend Cath from Upwey popped into the studio to join us for the rest of the show….we had a chat and we spun some tunes. Cath had never been on radio before and I’m hoping she’s caught the bug and will join us again sometime soon. At 8am Jackie and Les from the Upwey Tecoma Bowls Club joined us to chat about the much loved club falling victim to a clever scam. An invoice for works done to replace a flood damaged green got hijacked en route to the club and they ended up paying over $100K into the wrong bank account. The scam has drained all the club’s savings as the contractor still had to be paid for their work. Damn scammers!!! There’s plenty of fundraising going on and the club is desperate to raise enough dollaridoos to continue maintenance work on the other green. Jackie and Les also chatted about all the club social events, comps, facility hire…..
