Continuing with a track a week frotm this corker record ‘Trail of Flowers’ – Penguin Café Orchestra – ‘Cage Dead’ Union Cafe (1993) – Aselefech Ashine & Getenesh Kebret – ‘Amlak Abet Abet’. We again travelled to 1968 in the Ethiopian Calendar (1976) Addis Ababa to hear from the album ‘Beauties’ composed and arranged by Teshome Sisay. Re-released in 2023 – Leyla McCalla – ‘Take Me Away’ – Leyla McCalla – ‘So I’ll Go’. Had to play two in a row again from this brilliant album ‘Sun Without The Heat’ – Carme López – ‘Prologue: Cando a pena me mata, a alegría dame alento’ – A bit of experimental Galician bagpipe music from the most excellent release from this year ‘Quintela’. Expect to hear more on waxoid! – Cave – ‘Aharaha’ from Allways (2018) – Cornershop – ‘Brimful of Asha’ !!!! – Les Filles de Illighadad – ‘Inssegh Inssegh’. Only one track left of this album ‘At Pioneer Works’ (2021) from the Tuareg supergroup from Niger – Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers – ‘Dat Dere’ (1958) – Bonny Light Horseman – ‘Lover Take It Easy’ – Bonny Light Horseman – ‘I Know You Know’. Also couldn’t help but play two tracks from their new ‘Keep Me On Your Mind’ LP – Mogwai – ‘Summer (Priority Version)’ from 1997’s Young Team – Charlie Louvin – ‘Mary of the Wild Moor’ – Mike Seeger – ‘Fishing Blues’ from ‘early southern GUITAR sounds’ (2007) – Straitjacket Fits – ‘She Speeds’ as always Stay Safe, Stay Sane… see you next week.
